Organ trasplantation

Transplantation is an operation to transplant donor organs to a patient.

Turkish clinics rank third in the world in kidney, liver and bone marrow transplantation.

In this country, foreign citizens are only transplanted organs from a living related donor (up to the 4th generation). The relationship must be confirmed at the consulate of the country in which the patient lives and issued in the form of an official document in English or Turkish.

The transplant operation is performed only when the disease does not respond to other methods of treatment or severely impairs the quality of life of the patient (for example, the need to receive regular hemodialysis sessions).

This is not only a technically complex operation, but also a complex process of adapting the transplanted organ. In order to minimize the risk of rejection, a number of compatibility tests are carried out for each donor-recipient pair:

  • compatibility by blood group,
  • histological compatibility (individual compatibility of organs and tissues.

Most often, organs are transplanted when the donor and recipient have the same blood groups, but in the clinics with which we cooperate, in emergency cases, an organ of a donor with an incompatible blood type is transplanted.

The treatment program includes a long period of rehabilitation in a hospital after surgery (up to three months). But you can be sure of support, because Go Plastic Istanbul will be there for the entire treatment period.

Read more about the types of transplantation below.

Liver transplant

Liver transplantation or transplantation is a partial or complete replacement of the affected organ of the recipient (patient) with a healthy donor organ. Liver transplantation is the most effective and, often, the only radical method of treating patients with end-stage chronic diffuse liver diseases (cirrhosis, fibrosis, etc.), fulminant liver failure, malignant and benign liver tumors. Both posthumous donors and living related donors are considered as potential donors.

Kidney transplant

Kidney transplantation or transplantation is a partial or complete replacement of the affected organ of the recipient (patient) with a healthy donor organ.

Bone marrow transplant

Bone marrow transplantation or transplantation is a partial or complete replacement of the affected organ of the recipient (patient) with a healthy donor organ. Liver transplantation is the most effective and, often, the only radical method of treating patients with end-stage chronic diffuse liver diseases (cirrhosis, fibrosis, etc.), fulminant liver failure, malignant and benign liver tumors.
